　Wide range of new camera systems are developed in Imaging Systems Laboratory. These systems include illumination optics such as projectors as well as imaging lenses, optical filters, imaging devices, and backend signal processing. In collaboration with Imaging Devices Laboratory, image sensors based on new concepts are also developed. Although conventional camera systems are composed of sequentially-connected optics, image sensor, and signal processing, we combine them in parallel to let them work much more efficiently. Thus, extremely high performance or new functions are realized. We cover a wide rang of the system scale from camera to microscopes and full-body scanners for medical applications.
