We have been working on the development of energy-related (thermoelectric, photovoltaic), catalytic and bio-imaging and improving their properties by research innovations. We also have been conducting crystal growth experiments under Microgravity conditions to understand the growth mechanism. In addition, we have been fabricating light emitting materials for novel light sources and displays.
The main objectives of our research are as follows.

- Fabrication of hexagonal BN thin films by a chemical vapor method (K. Hara).
- Fabrication of fine crystal particles of GaN-related materials by a chemical vapor method for their phosphor applications (K. Hara).
- Fabrication of ultraviolet phosphors for the development of novel ultraviolet lamps (K. Hara).
- Fabrication of GaN microdisks for the generation of innovative optical functions (K. Hara).
- Direct Growth of Graphene films via Alcohol CVD (A.Nakamura)
- Development of soft actuators/sensors (A.Nakamura)
- Highly functional and flexible biosensor (A.Nakamura)
