These systems include illumination optics such as projectors as well as imaging lenses, optical filters, imaging devices, and backend signal processing. In collaboration with Imaging Devices Laboratory, image sensors based on new concepts are also developed. Although conventional camera systems are composed of sequentially-connected optics, image sensor, and signal processing, we combine them in parallel to let them work much more efficiently. Thus, extremely high performance or new functions are realized.
